Ways to Give

There are many ways to make a meaningful impact. Each option below provides a unique way to support our community. Learn more about these opportunities and choose the one that’s right for you.

Online

Our secure online gift form enables you to support the ECFS Orange Fund or the Form VI Legacy Gift quickly and easily. You also have the option to make monthly, quarterly, or yearly payments towards your pledge to ECFS.

Please note that payments made by credit card are subject to a processing surcharge charged by our payment processor. The surcharge will be calculated and displayed during checkout before your payment is finalized. You are welcome to opt out of covering this surcharge.

By Mail

If you would like to send a gift by mail, please send it to:

ECFS LOCKBOX
PO Box 24072
New York, NY 10087

Checks should be made payable to Ethical Culture Fieldston School.

By Phone

If you would like to make a gift to the Orange Fund over the phone, please email the Advancement Office at orangefund@ecfs.org or call 212-712-6254 and someone will return your call.

Stocks and Securities

It’s easy to make an impact while taking advantage of tax savings when you make a gift of stock or securities to ECFS. When you donate appreciated stock, you can avoid capital gains taxes and deduct 100% of the value of your contribution — providing benefits both for you and for ECFS.

Please follow these steps to make your stock or securities gift:

Contact the Advancement Office at orangefund@ecfs.org with the following information:

  • Your name and phone number
  • The name of the stock you plan to give
  • The number of shares
  • The name of the bank or broker who is transferring the stock
  • The approximate date the stock is being sent
  • The purpose of the gift (Orange Fund, new campaign gift, payment on a campaign pledge)

Ask your bank or broker to deliver the stock to:

Neuberger Berman
National Financial Services LLC (NFS) DTC #0226
Ethical Culture Fieldston School Account NBJ-040061

If you have any questions, please send your inquiry to orangefund@ecfs.org.

IRA Rollovers

The IRA Charitable Rollover Provision allows individuals who have reached age 70½ to donate up to $100,000 to charitable organizations directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) without treating the distribution as taxable income.

Please consult your tax or financial advisor for details or email us at orangefund@ecfs.org with any questions.
Fieldston Upper Campus
Whether it was Ethics classes or challenging reading lists, ECFS gave me the opportunity to express myself without worrying about what other people thought. The ECFS experience made me a better student and a better person. I was fortunate enough to be a scholarship student, as were my siblings before me. Now that I have reached the magical age for IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions, I want to give back.

Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible charitable giving option administered by a third party, such as a community foundation or financial services company.

By donating through a DAF, you will receive benefits including an immediate tax deduction, tax-free growth on investments within the fund, and flexible ways to donate complex assets like appreciated stock or cryptocurrency. DAFs also offer administrative simplicity compared to private foundations and provide a straightforward way to plan for future giving or legacy.

By contributing your appreciated securities or cryptocurrency to a DAF, rather than selling the assets first and then donating the cash, you eliminate capital gains tax on the sale. A DAF allows you to support ECFS immediately or over time, offers you some ability to manage your tax situation through giving, and can be relatively inexpensive to create and maintain. To learn more about donor-advised funds and/or set up a DAF, refer to the American Endowment Foundation’s website.

Recommend a grant by consulting with your financial advisor or DAF administrator, or reach out to orangefund@ecfs.org. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Pilla, Associate Director of Leadership Giving and Strategic Engagements, at spilla@ecfs.org or 212-712-6242.

Sustaining Giving

One gift, one month at a time — the impact of our community is extraordinary. Sustaining Giving is a simple and convenient way to maintain your philanthropic impact on an ongoing basis.
It’s never been easier to support the past, present, and future generations of ECFS students. A monthly sustaining gift of just $10 or more will make an ongoing, meaningful impact. This program allows you to set an automatic monthly, quarterly, or annual donation of any amount to help ECFS remain an educational leader and allow our current Eagles to soar.

To set up your recurring gift, please select the “Sustaining Gift” option on our giving page.
